I'm Going to Have to Kick My Own Ass

We found out over the weekend that friends of ours are pregnant. Well, actually the woman of the couple is the pregnant one, but pregnancy is pretty rough on the men too, so I guess I can credit them both with the pregnancy. Anyway, we got on the subject of current movies and, as a new father, I haven't had many movie-going opportunities recently. But that is no excuse for what I said..."Get your movies in now!" Have I forgotten what it was like being a soon-to-be-newdaddy...all the unsolicited advice? The minute the words left my mouth I cringed that I had said that...and Newmommy was quick to call me out on it. Man, I love this chick.

In other news, this morning when Newmommy and I opened Bud's door, she was sitting up in her crib, talking to her stuffed animals. She turns and looks at us as if to say "What are you looking at?" Bud sits up on her own now, I guess.

In other other news, I have recaptured my winning Yankees-game attendance record, improving last night to 3-2. I'm beating Clemens!

The Newdaddy Club Welcomes...

There must have been something in the water last September, because today we welcome our sixth addition to the Newdaddy Club in the last month: my college roommate! Finally, we welcome a boy to the Newbaby Club: man, will he have his selection of chicks!! (Yes, shame on me, I referred to my daugther as a "chick".)

Seriously, I would like to wish our newest Newdaddy (and his entire extended family, including the newmommy, newaunt, newuncles, newgrandparents, newgreat-grandparents) a big CONGRATULATIONS!

Even More Newdaddys!

The club just keeps growing...this time, a buddy of mine from law school. We welcome his little girl into the world, and him into the world of newdaddydom. Congratulations!

Two Newdaddys

The Newdaddy club welcomed two new members yesterday.

First, a college buddy of mine had a little girl yesterday morning; their first! I want to wish him and his whole family an AMAZING time with their newest addition!!

Also, a childhood friend of Newmommy's had a little girl yesterday. I want to wish her, and her husband (another first-time newdaddy) a big Mazel Tov!

Bud's playgroup is expanding by the day!

A Yanks/Sox Victory

The Red Sox nation and the Yankees Universe (evil empire, whatever you want to call it) each saw victories last night. The Yankees, of course, beat the Red Sox 6-2, and your humble narrator, as an attendee, improved his season record to 2-1.

Watching Bud was Newnana and Newgrampy (for those new to the blog; Newmommy's parents). Newgrampy is Yankees fan who (with Newnana, also a Yankees fan) taught their little girl well. Newgrampy is somewhat of an optimist...when our team is down, his mantra is: "we got 'em right where we want 'em." True to form, he has posited a theory, which will be known as the "Newgrampy Theory." Prior to Sunday night's victory over the Mets, the Bombers were 10 1/2 games out. According to Newgrampy, "[the Yankees] will take 3 back in June, 3 back in July, 3 back in August, and be in first place in September." I thought it would be fun to track this, and will add a little tracker on the sidebar of this blog.

The Red Sox saw a victory last night as well (thankfully, not on the field). The Sox nation grew by one last night as Soxlover entered the Newdaddy club. Congratulations to Soxlover and the whole Soxlover family!
